<\/p>\"\"<\/a>The other night, I was watching the DVD special features for Stanley Kubrick\u2019s 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY<\/a>. I\u2019ve seen the film more times than I can count, but never these special features. One of them closed with the following words by Kubrick:\n

\u201cThe most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death \u2013 however mutable man may be able to make them \u2013 our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
