Gardner Dozois breaks down 2008\u2019s best sf anthologies in his column, \u201cGardnerspace\u201d.\n<p>Gardner: <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">\u201cThis has been an almost unprecedented year for the number of first-rate original SF anthologies published, at least since the heyday of ORBIT, NEW DIMENSIONS, and UNIVERSE in the \u201970\u2019s.\u201d<\/span> He goes on to say, <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">\u201c\u2026I\u2019d have to say that the three strongest original SF anthologies of the year were Lou Anders\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fast-Forward-2-Lou-Anders\/dp\/159102692X\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1227977091&amp;sr=8-1\">FAST FORWARD 2<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonathanstrahan.com.au\/wp\/\">Jonathan Strahan<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Eclipse-New-Science-Fiction-Fantasy\/dp\/1597801364\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1227977121&amp;sr=1-1\">ECLIPSE 2<\/a>, and Strahan\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Starry-Rift-Jonathan-Strahan\/dp\/0670060593\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1227977157&amp;sr=1-1\">THE STARRY RIFT<\/a>\u2026.\u201d<\/span> And then the kicker, <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">\u201cOf these, I think I\u2019d give a very slight edge to FAST FORWARD 2.\u201d<\/span> Awesome.
